Duties
- Assist licensed physical therapists in developing and implementing personalized care plans for patients of all ages, including pediatrics and geriatrics.
- Perform therapeutic interventions such as trigger point therapy and other manual techniques to alleviate pain and improve function.
- Monitor patient progress, document responses to treatments, and communicate updates to the healthcare team.
- Educate patients and their families on physical therapy exercises, discharge planning, and home health strategies to promote recovery outside clinical settings.
- Support patient care activities in outpatient clinic
- Maintain accurate medical terminology records and ensure compliance with all safety and documentation standards.
- Contribute to interdisciplinary team efforts by assisting with mobility training, gait training, and functional assessments.
Experience
- Proven experience (3 -10 years) working as a Physical Therapy Assistant in outpatient settings with a focus on Manual Therapy.
- Skilled in applying physical therapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and other manual therapies.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and care plan development.
- Prior experience in outpatient environments is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and collaboration within multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
