Mechanical Project Manager (HVAC & Plumbing Construction)
Location: Tampa, FL
Salary: $120,000 - $150,000+ (Experience Dependent)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Manager to oversee commercial and multifamily mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout. This role is responsible for managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, procurement, and client relationships while ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget.
The ideal candidate has experience managing HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical systems construction projects and is comfortable leading multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment. This individual will work closely with field operations, vendors, ownership groups, and internal stakeholders to drive successful project execution and maintain high quality standards throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

Manage mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through completion

Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, subcontractors, vendors, and clients

Develop and maintain project budgets, schedules, forecasts, and cost controls

Oversee HVAC, plumbing, piping, and mechanical system installations

Review contracts, drawings, specifications, and project scope documents

Adapt to project changes, field conditions, and evolving client requirements

Ensure compliance with OSHA standards, company safety programs, and applicable codes

Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, purchase orders, and project documentation
Qualifications
-
3+ years of experience in mechanical project management

Experience managing commercial, multifamily, or mechanical construction projects

Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, piping, and related mechanical systems

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts

Proven ability to manage budgets, schedules, forecasting, and cost controls

Experience coordinating field teams, subcontractors, and vendors
Preferred

Experience with multifamily construction projects

Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Business, or a related field

Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Viewpoint, ERP systems, or similar construction software

Background with large-scale HVAC and plumbing installations

Mechanical, HVAC, or Plumbing licenses/certifications preferred

Design-build or negotiated project experience is a plus
