As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Senior Bookkeeper / Office Finance Lead to take ownership of our day-to-day financial operations. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a small business where they can make a real impact.
You'll work directly with the business owner, a qualified financial professional, who oversees financial reporting and business strategy, allowing you to focus on ensuring our financial operations run accurately, efficiently, and on time.
About the Role
This is a hands-on position responsible for managing the day-to-day bookkeeping and financial administration of the business – ultimately owning the financial operations of the business. We're looking for someone who takes pride in accuracy, enjoys improving processes, and can work independently while being an integral part of our management team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all day-to-day bookkeeping using QuickBooks
- Process customer invoicing and maintain accurate billing records
- Manage accounts receivable, collections and customer account enquiries
- Process accounts payable and supplier payments
- Complete monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
- Process payroll accurately and on schedule
- Maintain employee payroll records and related documentation
- Assist with month-end close and preparation of financial information
- Maintain organized and accurate financial records
- Identify opportunities to improve bookkeeping processes and office efficiency
- Provide administrative support for the financial operations of the business as required
We're Looking For Someone Who
- Has at least 5 years' bookkeeping experience
- Is highly proficient with QuickBooks
- Has experience processing payroll
- Has strong accounts receivable and accounts payable experience
- Is exceptionally organized and detail-oriented
- Communicates professionally with customers, vendors and team members
- Works well independently and takes ownership of their responsibilities
- Maintains confidentiality and high ethical standards
- Enjoys working in a growing small business environment
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the trades, construction, landscaping or property services industry
- Strong Microsoft Excel skills
- Experience improving office or accounting processes
- Bookkeeping or accounting qualification preferred but not essential
