American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for an Operating Room Circulator position requiring at least 1 year of intraoperative circulator experience and an active GA or compact RN license.

Hospital-based Operating Room (OR) setting

Surgical specialties include retina surgery, total hip/knee replacement, hand surgery, breast oncology, breast reconstruction, ENT, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and podiatry

Patient population spans pediatrics to geriatrics

Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 across 5 rooms with an average daily census of 18

Alternating schedule of 5x8-hour shifts one week and 4x8-hour shifts the next, totaling 72 hours per two-week pay period

Day shifts: 6:30 AM–3:00 PM or 8:30 AM–5:00 PM

No weekend requirements

Floating is rare and limited to within the facility and scope of practice

No formal on-call requirement, though RNs may be asked to stay late based on OR room completion status (dot/double dot system)

EMR: Epic; Medication dispensing: Pyxis

Active GA or compact RN license required

Current BLS certification required

Minimum 1 year of OR circulator experience in an intraoperative setting required

Two supervisory references (manager level or above; charge nurses not accepted) are highly preferred for consideration

First-time travelers are welcome to apply

Scrubs are provided by the facility

RTO maximum of 7 days for the assignment; RTO cannot be requested during the first week of the assignment

RTO blackout period: Spring Break (April 4–12)

Holiday coverage policy: if one or two major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler is expected to work all of them with no holiday RTO; if three major holidays fall within the assignment period, the traveler must work two and may request one holiday off — Major holidays include Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving/Black Friday, Christmas Eve/Christmas Day, and New Year's Eve/New Year's Day

No schedule change requests or alternate shift requests are permitted; the posted shift is firm

Travelers must have been away from all facilities within this health system for at least one full calendar year before returning as a traveler

A clinical pre-screening review is conducted prior to manager consideration

Full compliance with onboarding requirements is necessary to start on time
