About the Role
Our client is seeking a Senior Mechanical Product Engineer to support the lifecycle of released products within its Fluid Conveyance and Data Center Cooling business. This position is responsible for providing technical leadership for existing products by driving engineering improvements, resolving manufacturing and customer issues, supporting product qualification, and implementing engineering changes.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced mechanical engineer who enjoys solving complex technical challenges, working closely with manufacturing and quality teams, and improving products used in mission-critical cooling applications.
Responsibilities
- Lead engineering support for released mechanical products including quick disconnect couplings, connectors, adapters, manifolds, and fluid conveyance components.
- Investigate manufacturing, supplier, quality, and customer issues using structured root cause analysis and data-driven problem-solving techniques.
- Drive engineering change orders (ECO/ECN), product improvements, cost reduction initiatives, and manufacturability enhancements.
- Plan, coordinate, and evaluate product validation testing including pressure, leak, flow, durability, reliability, cleanliness, and compatibility testing.
- Analyze test data, field performance, production feedback, and customer requirements to identify risks and implement product improvements.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation including drawings, specifications, test reports, qualification records, risk assessments, and engineering change documentation.
- Support product qualification maintenance, regulatory compliance, certification activities, and customer technical requests.
- Partner with Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Operations, Supply Chain, Product Management, Sales, suppliers, and customers to resolve technical challenges.
- Participate in New Product Development (NPD) design reviews by providing lessons learned from current products and field performance.
- Maintain complete technical traceability for engineering decisions, qualification evidence, and documentation.
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians while promoting engineering best practices and continuous improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of experience in Product Engineering, Current Product Engineering, Mechanical Design, Manufacturing Engineering, or Product Development.
- Experience supporting released mechanical products in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience leading engineering change processes (ECO/ECN).
- Strong understanding of mechanical design principles and engineering documentation.
- Experience troubleshooting manufacturing and product quality issues.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to manage multiple engineering projects and priorities simultaneously.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with fluid conveyance products, quick disconnect couplings (QDC), valves, fittings, connectors, or pressure-containing mechanical products.
- Experience supporting products used in thermal management, industrial equipment, automotive, aerospace, hydraulics, or data center cooling applications.
- Knowledge of DFMEA, PFMEA, PPAP, FRACAS, Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Design for Six Sigma (DFSS).
- Experience supporting qualification testing and product certification activities.
- Familiarity with CAD software and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.
