JOB SUMMARY:
The Poolside Server is the initial person of contact for members and guests when enjoying the pool area. Therefore, it is essential that team members can handle multiple projects while projecting a warm, and friendly demeanor. The Server is expected to maintain the Club’s high standards of excellence for appearance, hospitality and service in personnel and cleanliness in all areas of the Club.
DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare the poolside dining area for members by cleaning and clothing tables, setting condiments, napkins, and utensils.
- Responsible for taking food and drink orders for members.
- Protect establishment and members by adhering to sanitation and safety policies.
- Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed, replenishing utensils, refilling water glasses, running food, and being alert to spills and other special needs.
- Responsible for set-up and replenishing condiment stands, trash containers liners, and bus stations.
- Close dining facility by cleaning chairs and tables; sweeping floors; removing trash and recyclables from the facility.
- Update job knowledge by participating in staff training opportunities.
- Enhance organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.
REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES
- The Pool Grill Server must be a positive and upbeat team player!
- Has a passion for customer service and work in the hospitality industry.
- A team attitude and an ability to work well with everyone on the team.
- Member recognition, be proactive and address all members with the correct article and last name.
- Prioritize tasks with the goals of the team in mind.
- Make the members and guest service a priority.
- Good communication skills.
- Flexible schedule availability according to business needs.
- Must be able to communicate in the predominant language of members and guests.
- A valid Food Handler card is required.
- A current ABC certification for the state of California is required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or GED (preferred)
- Previous employment in the hospitality/Club industry or environment
- Proficient in use of computers including Microsoft Office
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk; and use hands to handle or feel. The employee is required to reach with hands and arms; talk or hear; and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. The employee must have the ability to multi-task and complete tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
