Duration: 6–12+ Months
Schedule: 24–32 Hours per Week | Monday–Friday | 1st Shift (8:00 AM – 5:00 PM)
Staff Matters is seeking an experienced Internal Auditor for a long-term contract opportunity in Tucson, AZ. If you have a background in internal or external auditing, risk-based audits, and SOX compliance, we'd love to hear from you!
Key Responsibilities
- Execute risk-based audits across operational, financial, and compliance areas.
- Perform SOX control testing in accordance with established testing plans.
- Evaluate control design and operating effectiveness.
- Prepare clear, well-documented audit workpapers.
- Conduct process walkthroughs and document process narratives.
- Identify control deficiencies and communicate findings to audit leadership.
- Assist with audit reporting and provide practical recommendations.
- Analyze data to identify trends, risks, and anomalies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5+ years of internal or external audit experience.
- Experience with risk-based auditing, control evaluations, and audit execution.
- Working knowledge of COSO Framework and SOX compliance.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working with large data sets.
