Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Dump Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting materials to and from job sites while ensuring the safe and efficient operation of the dump truck. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to manage routes effectively.
Responsibilities
- Operate a dump truck to transport materials such as gravel, dirt, and asphalt to designated locations.
- Load and unload materials safely and efficiently, ensuring proper weight distribution.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure it is in good working condition.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including material types and quantities.
- Follow designated routes while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and site managers regarding delivery schedules and any issues encountered on the road.
- Perform minor maintenance on the truck as needed, including checking fluid levels and tire pressures.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar role involving truck driving.
- Proficient in operating various types of trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, roll-off trucks, and tractor-trailers.
- Strong knowledge of route driving techniques and navigation skills.
- Ability to load and unload materials safely while adhering to safety protocols.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high safety standards while driving.
