Job Summary

Duties
- Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing, chopping, and assembling ingredients following established recipes and procedures
- Operate kitchen equipment safely, including mixers, ovens, knives, and other culinary tools
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas by cleaning utensils, surfaces, and kitchen appliances regularly
- Support meal assembly and plating to ensure timely service during busy periods
- Follow food safety protocols and handle food items properly to prevent contamination
- Aid in inventory management by organizing supplies and monitoring stock levels
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate tasks and ensure smooth workflow
Qualifications
- Previous experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is preferred but not required
- Basic knowledge of food handling, safety standards, and sanitation practices in a food service environment
- Familiarity with menu planning and food preparation techniques including slicing, cooking, and recipe adherence
- Strong knife skills and slicing techniques for efficient ingredient processing
- Experience operating kitchen equipment safely in a fast-paced setting such as restaurants or catering services
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members
- Ability to follow instructions carefully while maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety standards in production
