We are seeking qualified candidates for the Residential Living Specialist Full-Time position. To facilitate client growth and development toward self-sufficiency in daily living skills, socialization, and community living. facilitate clients' stabilization in the community. work cooperatively with team members.
Other Responsibilities, but not all-inclusive:
- Facilitate and reinforce skill development in the following areas: social supports, food management, self-care preservation/personal hygiene, relapse prevention, medication management, stress management techniques, money management, utilization of public transportation, and participation in meaningful and planned community activities.
- Complete documentation, including progress notes and service plans, as required by regulations.
- Provide resolution and follow-up to crises or problems, in conjunction with managerial input.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree preferred in the social sciences or health care-related field and one year of relevant experience in the MH/MR field; or any combination of experience, education, or training that would provide the level of knowledge, skill, and ability required.
- Demonstrated crisis intervention/prevention and de-escalation skills required.
- Proficient communication skills, both oral and written.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Some knowledge of the mental health system and supports.
- Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record required.
Scope:
- Frequent talking and listening.
- Requires the ability to lift, carry, fold, kneel, reach, stack, stoop, and bend, which may include direct intervention with residents.
- Possess manual dexterity and fine motor skills.
- May require crisis intervention in emergencies.
- May be required to report to work during emergencies, including inclement weather.
