Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Auto Dismantler to join our team in a performance pay position. This role involves safely disassembling vehicles, removing parts, and preparing components for resale or recycling. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of vehicle systems and possess the necessary skills to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Attention to safety and detail is essential to ensure quality work and adherence to industry standards.
Duties
- Disassemble vehicles using hand tools, power tools, and specialized equipment
- Remove and catalog vehicle parts for resale or recycling purposes
- Inspect parts for damage or wear, ensuring only quality components are processed
- Use diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters to test electrical components
- Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency
- Follow safety protocols and proper disposal procedures for hazardous materials
- Assist with inventory management by documenting parts removed and processed
Skills
- Mechanical knowledge of vehicle systems and components
- Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment such as ohmmeters
- Experience with vehicle maintenance or dismantling preferred but not required
- Ability to work safely in a physically demanding environment
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Good communication skills and ability to follow instructions accurately
