The Division of Industrial Compliance and its associated boards ensure Ohioans are safe in public buildings such as businesses, educational institutions and municipal buildings. This includes drafting and applying the Ohio Building Code; conducting appeal hearings; issuing variances to code requirements; licensing commercial contractors; inspecting boilers, elevators and bedding; and regulating ski tramways. The division has responsibility for portions of the Manufactured Homes Program, and licenses installers and parks. The division also oversees Ohio’s minimum age, prevailing wage and minor labor law programs.
What You'll Do:

Supervises all Plans Examiners for the Bureau of Building Code.

Assists plans examination staff with problem resolution & delegates tasks.

Establishes priorities, monitors duties & responsibilities of all Plans Examiners to ensure compliance with the Ohio Revised Code, Administrative Code, & Ohio Building Code.

Assists Bureau Chief in developing policies & procedures to ensure conformance with rules & regulations of the BBS and the ORC.
Qualifications
Certificate to practice architecture per Section 4703.06 of Revised Code or certificate of registration as professional engineer per Section 4733.02 of Revised Code, 3 years of plan review experience for projects under provisions of Ohio Building Code (i.e., OBC).
