Responsibilities
- Design and implement developmentally appropriate lesson plans that promote literacy, numeracy, social skills, and physical activity in accordance with early childhood education standards.
- Lead classroom activities that encourage curiosity, exploration, and active learning among preschool-aged children.
- Manage classroom behavior through positive reinforcement strategies and effective behavior management techniques.
- Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to share progress updates, discuss concerns, and foster strong home-school connections.
- Ensure a safe and healthy environment by adhering to child welfare policies, maintaining cleanliness, and following mandated reporting laws for any concerns of child abuse or neglect.
- Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development, classroom management strategies, and inclusive practices such as special education and early intervention programs.
- Maintain accurate records of student progress, assessments, attendance, and standardized testing results to support individual learning plans.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with children in preschool or early childhood education settings.
- Strong knowledge of child development principles, childhood education methods, and classroom management techniques.
- Experience in curriculum development with an emphasis on literacy education, math skills, physical education, and social-emotional learning.
- Certification in first aid and CPR is required.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with children, parents, staff, and community partners.
- Familiarity with mandated reporting laws and child welfare policies to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
- Ability to plan engaging lessons that incorporate standardized testing preparation when appropriate.
- CDA Required
- Associate Degree (Preferred)
