Duties
- Thoroughly clean and sanitize dishes, cookware, utensils, and kitchen equipment following food safety sanitizing procedures
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic ingredient handling and setup
- Support bussing activities by clearing tables and transporting used dishware to the dishwashing station
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including dishwashers, sinks, and other cleaning tools
- Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen environment by sweeping, mopping, and organizing work areas regularly
- Follow all sanitation standards and health regulations to ensure a safe working environment for staff and guests
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks such as moving large pots or boxes of supplies while adhering to manual handling safety guidelines
Qualifications
- Prior food service or restaurant experience is preferred but not required; willingness to learn is key
- Knowledge of food safety management and sanitation practices is advantageous
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely, including heavy lifting and standing for extended periods
- Familiarity with operating basic kitchen equipment such as dishwashers or sinks is a plus
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness and hygiene standards
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively within a team environment
- Basic knife skills or culinary experience are beneficial but not mandatory; training will be provided for the right candidate
