We value people with the above attributes, as we are willing to train the right candidates to join our team for the long haul. Familiarity with electronic medical records and a medical office setting is a plus. We cross-train members of our team to ensure that everybody is familiar with many areas of the business. That said, each member of our team specializes in certain areas.
Key responsibilities include participating in all functions related to, but not limited to, the following:
Ophthalmic Technician - Patient / Customer Care (Primary)
- Meet and greet patients and customers and help with their needs
- Assist with directing office flow and maintaining positive atmosphere for patients
- Review and record medical history
- Conduct various testing with cutting-edge equipment - Humphrey Visual Field, Optovue OCT, Optomap Fundus Photography, Topography (training provided)
- Order contact lenses for patients
Administrative (Secondary)
- Assist with scheduling patient surgeries conducted outside of our office
- Maintain clean patient exam rooms with sufficient stock of trial contact lenses, eye drops and other pertinent medical supplies
- Assist with scheduling appointments and answering patient calls
- Assist with maintaining accurate patient demographic info and insurance information
- Enter charges and payments into computer system
- Obtaining insurance authorization and verification
- Assist with eyeglasses dispensing and frame styling as needed
