Duties
- Provide attentive pet care by feeding, watering, and monitoring animals’ health and behavior throughout their stay
- Perform thorough animal handling and restraint to ensure safety during grooming, medical procedures, or routine checks
- Maintain clean and sanitized kennels, cages, and common areas to promote a healthy environment for pets
- Assist with pet grooming tasks such as bathing, brushing, and nail trimming to keep animals comfortable and presentable
- Support veterinary staff with basic animal handling during examinations or treatments, following proper protocols
- Engage in dog training exercises to promote good behavior and socialization skills among the animals in your care
- Conduct pet sitting duties for clients’ pets, ensuring they receive personalized attention and companionship
- Heavy lifting of supplies or animals when necessary, always following safety guidelines to prevent injury
- Document daily activities, observations, and any concerns regarding animal health or behavior accurately in records
- Provide excellent customer service by answering questions from pet owners and offering guidance on pet care needs
Skills
- Proven experience in dog handling, pet grooming, or kennel work with a strong understanding of animal behavior
- Veterinary technician or veterinary assistant experience is highly desirable for supporting medical procedures
- Knowledge of animal restraint techniques to ensure safety for both pets and staff during handling or treatments
- Ability to perform dog training exercises aimed at improving obedience and social skills
- Familiarity with pet sitting responsibilities to provide compassionate care outside of regular kennel duties
- Strong customer service skills to communicate effectively with pet owners and team members
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, standing, walking, and performing cleaning tasks over extended periods
- Animal handling skills combined with a caring attitude that prioritizes the well-being of each pet

Base Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
