Responsibilities
- Operate POS (Point of Sale) systems efficiently to process retail sales transactions accurately and swiftly.
- Handle cash register operations, including cash handling, cash drawer balancing, and ensuring secure cash management throughout your shift.
- Provide outstanding customer service by greeting shoppers warmly, answering questions, and assisting with product inquiries or demos.
- Upsell products and promote store promotions to enhance sales opportunities while maintaining a positive shopping experience.
- Stock shelves, organize merchandise, and ensure the sales floor is clean, well-stocked, and visually appealing through effective merchandising.
- Assist in product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, enhancing their shopping experience.
- Maintain professional phone etiquette when handling inquiries or assisting customers remotely.
- Support grocery or retail store operations by performing stocking duties and managing retail math for accurate inventory control.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth store operations, including supervising less experienced staff when needed.
- Demonstrate strong communication skills to effectively interact with customers and team members in a bilingual environment if applicable.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or cashiering is preferred; grocery store experience is a plus.
- Proficiency with POS systems and cash register operations; basic math skills are essential for accurate transactions.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally.
- Experience in cashiering, cash handling, and managing cash drawers confidently.
- Ability to perform retail math calculations for pricing, discounts, and inventory management.
- Supervising experience is advantageous for leadership opportunities within the team.
- Knowledge of retail store product knowledge, merchandising techniques, and upselling strategies.
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer needs effectively.
- Familiarity with phone etiquette and providing excellent customer interactions over the phone or in person.
