# Medical Assistant — N of 1 Wellness

N of 1 Wellness is seeking a dependable, patient-centered **Medical Assistant (MA)** to support our growing wellness and functional medicine practice. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong clinical fundamentals with excellent organization, professionalism, and a genuine interest in helping patients improve their health.
Our practice provides personalized wellness services that may include primary care support, functional medicine, hormone optimization, weight management, laboratory services, injections, and other patient-focused treatment programs. The Medical Assistant will be an essential part of the clinical team, helping ensure every patient receives a smooth, high-quality experience.
Responsibilities
- Prepare examination and treatment rooms before and after patient visits.
- Room patients, obtain and document vital signs, review medications, allergies, medical history, and reason for visit.
- Assist providers with patient examinations, procedures, injections, blood draws, specimen collection, and in-office treatments, within scope of practice.
- Perform venipuncture, process specimens, label samples accurately, and coordinate laboratory pickups and orders.
- Administer injections and other delegated clinical services as permitted by credentials, training, state requirements, and provider direction.
- Support hormone optimization, functional medicine, wellness, and membership-based patient workflows.
- Assist with patient education, including treatment instructions, medication guidance, laboratory preparation, follow-up expectations, and wellness protocols.
- Document clinical information accurately and promptly in the electronic medical record.
- Support prescription refill workflows, prior authorizations, referrals, patient messages, and follow-up coordination.
- Maintain clinical supply inventory, monitor expiration dates, and help ensure rooms are stocked and organized.
- Follow infection-control procedures, OSHA standards, HIPAA requirements, and clinic policies.
- Help maintain a welcoming, efficient, and professional patient experience.
- Communicate effectively with providers, nurses, front-office staff, laboratories, pharmacies, and patients.
- Assist with additional administrative or clinical duties as needed in a growing practice.
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program, or equivalent relevant clinical experience.
- Current Medical Assistant certification is preferred, such as CMA, RMA, NCMA, or CCMA.
- Current BLS/CPR certification, or willingness to obtain shortly after hire.
- Experience taking vital signs, documenting patient information, and preparing patients for provider visits.
- Strong venipuncture and specimen-handling skills, or demonstrated willingness to complete training.
- Comfortable using electronic medical records and digital communication tools.
- Strong attention to detail, time-management skills, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Professional communication skills and a compassionate, patient-centered approach.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA and clinical safety standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a primary care, wellness, functional medicine, hormone replacement therapy, weight-management, aesthetic, or concierge medicine setting.
- Experience with laboratory ordering, specimen processing, injections, prior authorizations, and medication refill workflows.
- Familiarity with eClinicalWorks or another electronic health record system.
- Experience working in a fast-paced outpatient clinic.
- Comfort discussing wellness programs, memberships, treatment plans, and patient follow-up expectations.
