Job Summary
We are hiring a Shop Manager for a custom metal fabrication company that produces high-end stairways, railings, and architectural metalwork for religious, government, commercial, and luxury residential projects.
This is a hands-on leadership role managing a team of 10–12 employees. The ideal candidate has strong fabrication experience, leadership skills, and a commitment to quality and safety.
Responsibilities
- Supervise daily shop operations and production workflow
- Manage and lead a team of 10–12 fabricators and welders
- Read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Ensure jobs are completed on time and meet quality standards
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized shop environment
- Coordinate with project managers on schedules and priorities
- Troubleshoot fabrication issues and assist on the floor as needed
- Oversee equipment use and maintenance
Qualifications
- 5+ years of metal fabrication experience
- Previous supervisory or leadership experience in a shop setting
- Strong welding and fabrication knowledge
- Ability to read and understand blueprints/shop drawings
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple jobs and deadlines
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening
