AV Smart Solutions is seeking an experienced EL-06 Journeyman / Lead Installer to lead residential and commercial AV and low-voltage installations. This role is responsible for overseeing field installations, mentoring junior technicians, maintaining project quality, and ensuring projects are completed efficiently and professionally.
The ideal candidate has strong technical knowledge, leadership skills, and experience managing installations from rough-in through final commissioning.
Responsibilities
- Lead installation crews on residential and commercial AV projects
- Install and commission audio/video, security, networking, lighting control, and automation systems
- Read plans, scopes of work, and system documentation
- Manage job site workflow and maintain project timelines
- Troubleshot system and wiring issues independently
- Ensure installations meet company quality standards
- Train and mentor apprentice and junior installers
- Coordinate with project managers, clients, contractors, and vendors
- Maintain clean documentation and field communication
Qualifications
- An active EL-06 license is required
- 3+ years of AV or low voltage installation experience preferred
- Strong understanding of AV systems, networking, and structured cabling
- Experience leading crews and managing projects
- Ability to troubleshoot and commission systems independently
- Familiarity with Control4, surveillance, audio systems, networking, and lighting control preferred
- Professional appearance and strong customer service skills
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
