Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using equipment such as Hoyer lifts when necessary
- Monitor residents’ health by taking vital signs, observing behavior, and reporting changes promptly
- Administer medications following care plans and ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations to protect patient privacy
- Prepare nutritious meals and snacks tailored to individual dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards
- Support residents during community outings or recreational activities to promote social engagement and independence
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, resident progress, and incident reports in accordance with regulatory guidelines
- Perform light cleaning duties within the group home to ensure a safe, hygienic environment for all residents
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home health environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient care techniques including CPR and First Aid certification; additional certifications such as HIPAA training are a plus
- Experience caring for individuals with developmental disabilities, Alzheimer’s/dementia care, autism spectrum disorder, or memory care needs
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and assist with resident transfers using Hoyer lifts or similar equipment
- Strong observational skills for patient monitoring and patient safety; patience and compassion are essential qualities
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and care plan implementation
- Valid certifications in CPR and First Aid; willingness to obtain additional training as required
