Harger Utility Contractors, Inc. is in search of crew foreman with equipment operating experience to join our current and upcoming projects in Centre, Clinton, and Lycoming County. The foreman is motivated, knowledgeable in utility construction processes, communicates with management as needed, and operates a variety of construction equipment and trucks, for active job sites.
Qualified Candidates:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in construction.
- At least 2 years’ experience at the level of a Crew Leader or Foreman.
- Demonstrated organizational and production skills.
- Basic computer skills required, smart phone, tablet.
- Must be thorough, detailed, and conscientious with the execution of the work.
- Must have and be able to maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Must be able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
- Operates trucks of various sizes and weights in the loading, hauling and unloading of various equipment, materials and supplies.
- Operates construction or power equipment, such as backhoe, dump truck, front-end loader, hydraulic excavators, and skid steers.
- Works with and assists all crews in digging ditches and trenches, hoisting material, tools, equipment, and any related work with a backhoe, skid steer or front-end loader.
- Must be able to lead other crew members with appointed tasks from the project superintendent.
- Performs routine inspection and preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and refers defects or repairs to the supervisor; cleans equipment.
- Assists in the installing and maintenance of traffic control devices as needed.
- Performs all duties in conformance to appropriate safety standards.

Supervisory Responsibility
Must be able to lead and direct crew members with project tasks as assigned by the project superintendent.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works in outside weather conditions. The employee frequently works near moving mechanical parts, and is frequently exposed to wet or humid conditions and vibration. The employee occasionally works in high, precarious places and is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and risks of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
