Fellows CPA Solutions is a growing CPA firm providing tax preparation, tax planning, bookkeeping, payroll, client accounting services, IRS representation, and advisory services to individuals, trusts, estates, and closely held businesses.
We are seeking an experienced tax and accounting professional to become a key leader within our firm. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys solving complex tax issues, reviewing returns, mentoring staff, and helping build efficient systems and processes.
The owner remains the primary relationship manager and business development leader for the firm. This role is focused on technical excellence, operational leadership, quality control, and team development.
This position serves as the firm's senior technical leader and provides oversight of tax, accounting, payroll, workflow management, and staff development.
What You'll Do
Technical Leadership (Approximately 70%)
- Review individual, partnership, S-Corporation, corporate, trust, and estate tax returns
- Research and resolve complex tax issues
- Provide technical guidance and training to staff accountants
- Review workpapers and maintain firm quality standards
- Assist with advanced tax planning opportunities
- Support IRS and state tax resolution matters
- Serve as a technical resource for challenging tax situations
- Assist with final review of complex client engagements prior to delivery
Client Accounting Services Oversight
- Oversee bookkeeping engagements for accuracy and completeness
- Review financial statements and accounting work prepared by staff
- Provide guidance and support to bookkeeping personnel
- Assist with complex accounting, cleanup, and catch-up projects
- Ensure consistent quality across client accounting engagements
- Support month-end and year-end accounting processes
Payroll Services Oversight
- Oversee payroll service operations and staff
- Ensure payroll engagements are completed accurately and timely
- Assist with payroll-related compliance and reporting issues
- Maintain quality control standards for payroll services
Operational Leadership (Approximately 30%)
- Mentor and develop accountants, bookkeepers, payroll staff, and administrative personnel
- Monitor workflow and project status through TaxDome
- Help manage deadlines, capacity planning, and staff utilization
- Improve internal workflows and operational efficiency
- Create and maintain standard operating procedures
- Assist with firm operations and team management
- Help build a scalable and efficient practice capable of continued growth

Qualifications
- CPA license preferred
- 8+ years of public accounting experience
- Strong experience reviewing individual and business tax returns
- Experience supervising staff and managing workflows
- Experience overseeing bookkeeping and payroll engagements preferred
- Trust and estate taxation experience highly desirable
- Strong tax research, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Ability to mentor, develop, and lead team members
- Experience with Drake Tax, QuickBooks, TaxDome, and related systems is a plus
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary of $100,000 to $140,000 depending on experience, qualifications, and technical expertise

This is not a sales position.
This is not a role that requires cold calling, networking quotas, or generating business to be successful.
Experienced professionals with an existing book of business are welcome but not required.
