Kennel & Daycare Attendant
The Secret Garden Pet Resort is seeking a dependable, compassionate, and hardworking individual who is passionate about animal care and committed to providing exceptional service to both pets and their owners.
Please note that this is a seasonal position and is best suited for someone with a flexible schedule. Hours per week may reach 40 hours.
Qualifications
- No prior experience required
- Passion for animals and their well-being
- Strong communication, customer service, and teamwork skills
- Reliable, patient, and detail-oriented
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in a physically active environment
- Pet First Aid & CPR Certification (required within 3 months of employment)
Responsibilities
- Supervise daycare playgroups and maintain a safe, structured environment using positive reinforcement and proper handling techniques.
- Monitor pets for health, behavior, or temperament changes and promptly communicate concerns to management.
- Feed, water, walk, and provide daily care for boarding and daycare guests according to individual instructions.
- Check pets in and out, ensuring they leave with the correct owner and belongings.
- Maintain a clean and sanitary facility through routine cleaning of kennels, daycare areas, cat condos, dishes, laundry, floors, and common areas.
- Accurately document pet behaviors, eating habits, medications, incidents, and daily activities.
- Ensure pets have constant access to fresh water and receive attentive, compassionate care throughout their stay.
- Assist with additional facility duties as needed to support team operations and maintain our high standards of care.
