Triple J Contractors is seeking an experienced Structural Steel Fabricator/Fitter to join our team in Pasadena, Texas.
We are looking for a skilled fitter who can take a set of structural steel shop drawings and independently lay out, fit, and fabricate assemblies with minimal supervision. This is not an entry-level position.
Responsibilities
● Read and interpret structural steel shop drawings
● Independently lay out and fit structural steel assemblies
● Fabricate beams, columns, braces, frames, stairs, handrails, and miscellaneous steel
● Fit plates, clip angles, stiffeners, base plates, connection material, and other attachments
● Verify dimensions, hole locations, orientation, and fit-up prior to welding
● Operate band saws, drills, ironworkers, torches, grinders, and other fabrication equipment
● Coordinate with welders and shop personnel to maintain production schedules
● Maintain fabrication tolerances and quality standards
● Follow all shop safety procedures
Qualifications
● Minimum 5 years of structural steel fabrication/fitting experience required
● Must be able to read and interpret structural steel shop drawings without supervision
● Strong layout and fitting skills
● Experience fitting structural members and miscellaneous steel
● Ability to accurately measure, lay out, square, and maintain fabrication tolerances
● Ability to work independently and efficiently
● Dependable attendance and reliable transportation
● Welding experience is a plus
