CEI is a fast-growing, Environmental water testing laboratory based in Grass Valley, California. We are looking for an entry level Sample Control Technician in our Grass Valley laboratory.
POSITION OVERVIEW:
- Working under the direction of the laboratory supervisor, the sample control technician supports the overall operation of the laboratory. The position includes sample login, courier services, coordination of the bottle preparation for the clients. This includes bottle inventory. Coordinate all shipping and receiving for the laboratory on daily basis. Well organized with attention to details. Must have effective communication skills. Follow general lab practices and lab safety. Flexible in work schedule (including weekends) and able to work overtime. Knowledge of LIMS system desirable.
Primary and additional Responsibilities:
- Perform all sample log in. This includes receiving, preparing and set up of samples for analysis by using our LIMS database system.
- Perform courier services as needed.
- Perform shipping and receiving for the laboratory.
- Perform bottle preparation and inventory for clients.
- Administration support including scanning and mailing reports.
- Perform basic analysis
- Record and manage paperwork per guidelines.
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as prescribed by the company.
- Abide by all Laboratory Quality and Safety protocols.
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Education: High School diploma or equivalent
- Computer, word processing software and database software.
- Experience working in a water laboratory desirable.'
