Duties
- Efficiently wash dishes, utensils, cookware, and kitchen equipment following proper food safety sanitizing procedures to maintain hygiene standards.
- Assist with food preparation tasks as needed, including basic chopping, ingredient handling, and setup to support kitchen operations.
- Clear and reset tables promptly by bussing dishes, glassware, and silverware to ensure a clean and welcoming dining area.
- Maintain cleanliness of all restaurant areas by sweeping, mopping, sanitizing surfaces, and managing waste disposal in accordance with sanitation protocols.
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and correctly, including dishwashers and other small appliances, adhering to health and safety standards.
- Handle manual tasks such as heavy lifting of supplies or equipment while following proper ergonomic practices to prevent injury.
- Support the culinary team during busy service periods by assisting with food handling and maintaining a clean work environment.
Qualifications
- Prior experience in food service or restaurant environments is preferred but not required; enthusiasm for hospitality is essential.
- Knowledge of food safety management practices and sanitation standards is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including lifting heavy loads safely.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on cleanliness, organization, and safety procedures.
- Excellent teamwork skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a fast-paced setting.
- Basic knife skills or culinary experience are a plus but not mandatory; willingness to learn is key.
- Commitment to maintaining high standards of kitchen health and safety standards at all times.
- Making sure that the bathrooms are clean and trash checked as well as other normal restaurants responsibilities.
