Farmersville Health and Rehabilitation is seeking a full-time Dietary Cook for our 74-bed skilled nursing facility in Farmersville, Texas. The afternoon shift runs from 12pm-8pm on a rotating schedule, ensuring our kitchen operations remain predictable and dinner service meets regulatory timelines.
This role coordinates meal production for a compact facility layout. Efficient food preparation and clean-up cycles keep the dietary department on schedule.
Pay, Schedule & Benefits
- Pay Rate: $16/hour, increasing with experience.
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours per week), afternoon shift from 12pm-8pm on a rotating schedule.

Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook meals according to planned menus and prescribed therapeutic diets.
- Maintain production logs and record food temperatures to verify compliance standards.
- Clean work stations, sanitize equipment, and assist with washing dishes after meal service.
- Follow portion control guidelines to minimize food waste.
- Store food items according to state safety codes and labeling requirements.
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a cook in a healthcare facility, school, or commercial kitchen preferred.
- Food Handler’s Certification (can be provided by facility)
- Familiarity with sanitation principles and large-scale meal preparation.
- Must pass a criminal background check.
- Must be able to pass a drug screening.
- Must have reliable transportation for dependable attendance.
