Handyman – On-Call / Side Gig Opportunity
Looking for a flexible, well-paying side job? We’re looking for a dependable, skilled individual to work alongside Ian or on their own on an as-needed basis. This is not a traditional 9–5 position. Work is offered when projects become available, making it a great opportunity for someone who already has a job, is self-employed, or simply wants to earn extra income. If your not available when offered an open job, theres absolutely no issue with that. If you are, great! We would give you all the information needed and you can set out to start the job.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys and has experience doing physical work, takes pride in doing quality work, and can confidently use hand and power tools. Every day is different, and you’ll have the opportunity to work on a variety of residential projects throughout the Charleston area.
Requirements:
- Previous hands-on experience in the trades is required.
- Comfortable using common hand and power tools.
- Able to lift heavy items and perform physical labor.
- Reliable transportation.
- Strong work ethic and dependable communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Professional, respectful attitude when interacting with customers.
- Must have basic knowledge of home repairs, installations, or construction-related work.
Examples of the work you’ll assist with include:
- Furniture assembly
- TV mounting
- Ceiling fan installation
- Light fixture installation and replacement
- Drywall patching and minor repairs
- Interior touch-up painting
- Caulking and sealing
- Hanging shelves, curtains, blinds, artwork, and mirrors
- Door hardware installation and adjustments
- Minor plumbing fixture replacements (faucets, showerheads, etc.)
- Minor electrical fixture replacements (where appropriate)
- General home repairs and maintenance
- Store pickups and material pickups
- Facebook Marketplace furniture pickups and deliveries
- Moving heavy furniture and appliances
- Yard cleanup and other small outdoor projects
- Helping prepare homes for new homeowners or tenants
This position is ideal for someone with real-world experience in construction, maintenance, remodeling, carpentry, or another skilled trade who wants the flexibility to earn extra income without committing to a full-time schedule.
