Marketing & Community Outreach Coordinator
Position Summary
The Marketing & Community Outreach Coordinator is responsible for promoting the co-op's mission, products, services, and community impact through strategic marketing, social media management, event planning, and community engagement. This position helps strengthen relationships with members, customers, local organizations, and the broader community while increasing awareness of the co-op's values and offerings. The ideal candidate is creative, organized, community-minded, and passionate about local food systems, cooperative business principles, and sustainable living.
Essential Responsibilities
Marketing & Brand Management
- Develop and implement marketing campaigns that support store goals, sales initiatives, membership growth, and community engagement.
- Maintain consistent branding across all marketing materials, signage, advertising, and digital platforms.
- Create promotional materials including flyers, posters, newsletters, email campaigns, and in-store signage.
- Coordinate seasonal campaigns, special promotions, and anniversary celebrations.
- Monitor marketing performance and provide regular reports on campaign effectiveness.
Social Media Management
- Manage and maintain all social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and emerging channels.
- Create engaging content including photos, videos, graphics, stories, and reels.
- Develop and maintain a content calendar.
- Respond to comments, messages, and community inquiries in a timely manner.
- Track engagement metrics and identify opportunities to increase reach and audience growth.
- Collaborate with departments to highlight products, staff, vendors, member benefits, and community initiatives.
Community Outreach & Events
- Build and maintain relationships with local businesses, nonprofits, schools, farms, and community organizations.
- Represent the co-op at community events, festivals, farmers' markets, and outreach opportunities.
- Coordinate member appreciation events, workshops, mixers, educational programs, and community gatherings.
- Develop partnerships that align with the co-op's mission and values.
- Recruit and coordinate volunteers for community events when needed.
Membership & Customer Engagement
- Support membership recruitment and retention initiatives.
- Assist with member communications and educational materials.
- Help develop programs that increase member participation and engagement.
- Promote cooperative principles and communicate the benefits of ownership.
Content Creation
- Write compelling content for newsletters, blog posts, press releases, website updates, and promotional campaigns.
- Capture and edit photos and videos for marketing purposes.
- Maintain and update website content as needed.
- Tell the story of the co-op through engaging and mission-driven communications.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
