Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Low Voltage Estimator to join our preconstruction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for low voltage systems, including electrical wiring, communication networks, security systems, and other related infrastructure. Your expertise will help ensure project bids are competitive yet profitable, supporting the successful delivery of complex construction projects. Responsibilities
- Review project plans, specifications, and contract documents to develop comprehensive low voltage system estimates.
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed cost proposals.
- Conduct site visits to assess existing conditions and gather data necessary for accurate pricing.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to clarify project scope and negotiate terms effectively.
- Calculate material quantities, labor costs, equipment needs, and subcontractor pricing while adhering to NEC (National Electrical Code) standards.
- Maintain strict cost control measures throughout the estimating process to ensure profitability.
- Prepare detailed bid packages that include scope of work, pricing summaries, and contractual terms aligned with project requirements.
Experience
- Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on low voltage systems or electrical projects.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, contracts, and project management principles within the construction industry.
- Familiarity with Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating tools is highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of NEC (National Electrical Code) regulations and electrical system design principles.
- Hands-on electrical or construction site experience that enhances your ability to accurately assess project needs.
- Excellent negotiation skills paired with a proactive approach to cost control and pricing strategies.
