The Parkway Tavern is a neighborhood pub located in the heart of Tacoma’s North Slope Historic District. Known for our incredible craft beer selection, welcoming atmosphere, stellar service & top-tier pub fare, we’re a local staple with 90 years of history(for good reason). We’re looking to add a reliable, motivated and creative cook to our kitchen team who shares our passion for great food, consistency, and community. Shifts currently available are Wednesday, Saturday & Sunday mornings, 8am-5pm
Our expectations include:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes from our established menu, including daily specials
- Ensure food quality, portion control, and presentation standards are met
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen and prep areas
- Follow proper food handling and sanitation standards
- Communicate effectively with FOH staff to ensure smooth service
- Assist in inventory management and restocking as needed
- Help maintain a positive and productive culture for FOH and BOH
We are a tip pooling establishment, so assisting the front with bussing/washing dishes/cleanup is a shared duty that all are required to participate in, once your kitchen duties are finished.
Qualifications:
- Prior cooking or line cook experience preferred (1+ years ideal)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail, & have a positive attitude under pressure
- Must be dependable, punctual, and a team player
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods
- Valid Washington State Food Worker Card required
- Valid MAST card required
