About the Role
We’re hiring a Maintenance Supervisor for a leading plastics manufacturer in Freeport, NY. This is a hands‑on leadership role responsible for keeping all plant equipment and building systems running safely, efficiently, and reliably. If you have strong mechanical and electrical maintenance experience—especially with injection molding machines—this is an excellent opportunity to join a growing team.
What You’ll Do
- Maintain and repair all production and non‑production equipment, including:
- Injection molding machines, robots, grinders, chillers, thermolators, dryers
- Assembly and glue machines, shrink‑wrap equipment
- Air compressors, well water systems, and other plant machinery
- Perform and document all preventive maintenance activities.
- Handle general building maintenance: HVAC filters, plumbing, lighting, emergency lights, exhaust fans, etc.
- Coordinate with subcontractors and vendors for electrical, HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, roofing, and spare‑parts needs.
- Manage spare‑parts inventory and order supplies, tooling, and materials.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety standards and all maintenance work complies with OSHA and company policies.
- Support the Plant Manager with special projects as needed.
What You Bring
- 5–10 years of experience as a general maintenance mechanic.
- 3–5 years working with injection molding machines.
- Strong aptitude in electrical circuits, mechanical systems, hydraulics, HVAC, plumbing, and pneumatics.
- Solid understanding of plant/facility maintenance best practices.
- Experience with take‑out robots is a plus.
- Comfortable using MS Office and ERP systems.
- Ability to manage inventory and place purchase orders.
- Strong communication and relationship‑building skills.
