Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Dental Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team on Wednesdays . Working hours 9:00 am to 6:30 pm.The ideal candidate will possess a strong commitment to patient care, excellent clinical skills, and a thorough understanding of dental procedures and hygiene practices. As a key member of our practice, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive dental hygiene services, educating patients on oral health, and supporting the overall efficiency of the dental office. Your expertise will help ensure a positive patient experience while maintaining the highest standards of safety and infection control.
Responsibilities
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct initial patient assessments by reviewing medical history, vital signs, and current dental concerns.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene techniques and preventive care strategies tailored to pediatric dentistry and general dentistry needs.
- Assist with chairside procedures, including taking dental radiographs, medical imaging, and preparing treatment areas.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations and EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix.
- Follow strict infection control protocols using aseptic techniques to ensure a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a welcoming atmosphere, demonstrating patience, and applying specialized pediatric dentistry practices.
- Collaborate with dentists to develop treatment plans, review medical coding, and ensure comprehensive patient care.
Qualifications
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Proven experience in dental office settings with familiarity in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, and dental assisting procedures.
- Proficiency in dental terminology, medical terminology, and documentation review processes.
- Experience using EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix for charting and record-keeping.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, aseptic technique, and sterilization procedures within a dental clinic environment.
- Strong understanding of anatomy relevant to oral health assessments and medical imaging techniques.
- Excellent patient care skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse patient populations including pediatrics.
