Material Bonder A - 1st Shift (ROC)
Description
Working from blueprints, Bell Process Specifications, drawings or written specifications performs all necessary layouts
and prepares parts or articles composed of like or unlike materials for pressure bonding process. Plans operations
and performs assembling, fitting, and trimming as required, applies either liquid or solid bonding agents. Uses various
production aids, such as jigs, fixtures and hand tools. Checks all work to insure selection and application of proper
bonding agent, correct assembly and fitting, etc., and places articles in a pressure furnace. Controls conditions of heat,
pressure, and timing by setting and operating various controls according to the specifications for the materials and the
bonding agent being used. Maintains close watch over furnace controls during bonding process to insure successful bond
and prevent damage to articles. Checks articles when finished. Responsible for safe operation of equipment.
Tools & Equipment Used:
Required hand tools, power tools necessary to do own work, liquid or solid bonding agents, autoclave, measuring
instruments, jigs, fixtures, spray guns, brushes, oven, gloves, etc.
Qualifications
Two years metal fitting or forming experience, one year of which must have been in bonding work including the operation
of a pressure furnace, or two years of Bell Material Bonder B or Material Bonder – I classification experience or one year
Bell Material Bonder B experience combined with one year metal fitting or forming experience.
