Social Media & Events Intern
Location: Beverly, MA (On-site)
Reports to: Associate Director of Communications & VP of Philanthropy
Schedule: 10–20 hours per week (flexible)
Duration: Semester or Summer Internship (with potential for extension)

Lifebridge North Shore is a nonprofit organization dedicated to serving people who are homeless. They provide shelter, housing, meals, outreach, and supportive services to individuals across the North Shore. Position Summary
Lifebridge North Shore is seeking a creative, organized, and mission-driven Social Media & Events Intern to help tell the stories that inspire our community. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit marketing, digital communications, and community engagement while supporting an organization making a meaningful impact every day.
The intern will assist with creating content, managing social media platforms, capturing photos and videos, and promoting programs, events, volunteer opportunities, and fundraising campaigns.
Responsibilities
- Create engaging content for Facebook, Instagram and other social media platforms.
- Draft captions, graphics, short-form videos, and stories that reflect Lifebridge's mission and voice.
- Photograph and film events, volunteer activities, and community initiatives (with appropriate permissions).
- Assist with planning and maintaining the social media content calendar.
- Monitor engagement by responding to comments and messages as directed.
- Research social media trends, nonprofit best practices, and relevant community conversations.
- Help promote fundraising campaigns, volunteer opportunities, and special events.
- Track basic social media analytics and provide recommendations for improving engagement.
- Collaborate with staff to identify compelling stories that highlight the impact of Lifebridge's programs and services.
- Support event logistics, including registration, vendor and volunteer coordination, signage, event setup and breakdown, and guest engagement.
- Support other communications and marketing projects as needed.
Qualifications
- Current undergraduate or graduate student, or recent graduate, in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Digital Media, Graphic Design, or a related field.
- Strong writing and storytelling skills.
- Familiarity with Instagram, Facebook, and emerging social media platforms.
- Experience with Canva and basic photo/video editing a plus.
- Comfortable using smartphones or cameras to capture quality content.
- Highly organized with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with a team.
- Passion for community service, social impact, and nonprofit work.
- Experience creating Reels, TikToks, or other short-form video content.
- Knowledge of nonprofit communications or fundraising is a plus.
