Summary
The Spa Manager position is under the immediate supervision of the Campus Director in conjunction with the School Director, with campus responsibilities for: beginning & intermediate students, post-graduate advanced students, and licensed massage therapists in the clinic & day spa setting. As such, they share responsibility for establishing clinic schedules for the above-stated populations, orientation to the practicum & clinical experience, directing performance evaluations, and grading performance in the way of issuing grades, & improving performance. Oversees the retail arm of the spa/school alongside managing the front desk team.
Requirements
- Utah L.M.T. (minimum three years in the field) with spa skills and supervisory/managing experience
- Ability to deal effectively with a diverse student body (teacher experience preferred)
- Ability to work under pressure to meet timelines and objectives
- Ability to oversee professional massage clinic & day spa and training/mentoring student learner
- Good English, interpersonal and communication skills
- Excellent hygiene and dress habits for dealing with the public on a daily basis.
Duties
- Maintain and supervise front desk staff, students, and LMTs to portray a positive, friendly, and professional image to all people as this position sets the mood and spirit of the spa, which is the focal point for the business between the community and personnel.
- Provide student practicum orientation, establish student schedules in the spa, monitor student progress of their performance evaluations and experience in the practicum and clinical learning experience, including feedback and providing a final grade for the course.
- Be able to assist and cover (when needed) the front desk staff duties, which include answering phones, answering questions of the public, taking messages for appropriate personnel, booking appointments, taking payments, prep treatments, laundry, etc. and make certain front desk personnel are performing their duties well.
- Review inventory control for the retail arm of the spa, and pass on needs for ordering supplies and retail product to Campus Director.
- Be available in case of student needs or emergencies arise, notify campus director and resolve issues promptly (with campus director or school director input first). Demonstrate spa treatments to new students or those needing more guidance/assistance.
- Review register operation daily, including shift reports, accurate accounting of monies, creating cash tills, and producing monthly reports of income, which are reported to the Spa Director.
- Be proficient in “Mangomint” software to accurately account for and balance register tills, create and maintain spa schedules, create reports for spa director/manager, update and maintain student profiles, review student shift reports, problem-solving, etc.
- Coordinate and supervise chair/sports massage events. Communicating with prospective/current clients, giving accurate quotes, finding students/LMT’s to work events, supervising students by working events, etc.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds independently.

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
