American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Medical/Surgical position at a Level 1 Trauma Center in Chicago, IL, requiring 2 years of acute care experience and an active IL RN license.

Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
-
Every other weekend (2 weekends per month) required

No block scheduling or special scheduling requests permitted

This is a mandatory float facility — all clinicians are required to float at the facility's discretion, including mid-shift, to any Cook County facility within 50 miles
-
Charting is done in Cerner
-
No on-call requirements

Active IL RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted

Minimum 2 years of recent acute care Med/Surg experience

Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS

2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years required for consideration

Level 1 Trauma Center environment

Clinicians may be floated to a variety of units, including outside their primary area of competency; a team-based model is used when floated outside primary competency

Float notifications may be issued up to 2 hours before shift start

RTO is capped at 5 days per contract, with no more than 2 consecutive days off at a time
-
No RTO approved on weekends, on holidays, or the day before or after a holiday

Proof of COVID vaccination is required — no exceptions; booster is not required

Scrubs may be any color and are not provided by the facility
-
Local candidates are accepted and preferred — candidates must reside within 75 miles of the facility
