American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a CVOR position requiring a minimum of 2 years of CVOR experience, strong scrub skills, and the ability to take call in a fast-paced cardiovascular OR setting.

Work setting is an acute care hospital cardiovascular operating room (CVOR)
-
Performs all heart surgeries including CABG and valve procedures; no thoracic cases
-
4 CVOR suites with 4–6 surgeries performed per day
-
Staffed with Certified Surgical Technologists (CSTs) as surgical assistants
-
10-hour varied day shifts with call when cases run long
-
Overnight call required once per week
-
Weekend coverage required for approximately 3 weekend days per month (equivalent to 1.5 weekends); not scheduled on a strict every-other-weekend rotation

Holiday rotation with core staff

Cerner EMR used in this position

Must be able to read and interpret EKG strips; ventilator experience is a plus but not required

RT and pharmacy support available 24/7

Active CA RN license required (must be active at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted)

Current BLS certification (AHA) required; pending certifications not accepted

Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required

Must be proficient in scrubbing — scrub role is required for this position

Ability to read and interpret EKG strips required

A driver's license must be provided for consideration

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months worked, and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years worked, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Candidate must pass a Relias Dysrhythmia exam (basic or advanced) before an offer can be confirmed

Orientation consists of 1–2 days in the OR with a preceptor (approximately 12 orientation hours total)

A pass/fail sterile technique test (Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes) is administered on the first day of orientation

Candidates who have been directly employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity facility within the past year are not eligible; candidates employed PRN through outside firms will be considered

Scrubs are provided by the facility

This is a fast-paced, high-volume OR environment — candidates must have strong CVOR experience and confidence in their skills
