This is recon work on older high-mileage vehicles. Many jobs involve engine replacements, transmission work, and major mechanical repairs. If you can swap an engine in a day and do it right, this is your shop.
What you'll do:
- Engine and transmission diagnosis, repair, and replacement
- Full mechanical inspections on incoming inventory
- Brake, suspension, and drivetrain repairs
- Diagnose and fix check engine lights and electrical issues
- Work on older vehicles (2005–2020 range, various makes)
- Hit daily job completion targets — speed and quality both matter
What you'll earn:
- Flat rate: $35–$40 per flag hour based on skill
- Strong techs flag 50–80+ hours per week
- Target earnings: $70,000–$140,000/year
- Comebacks are not paid — quality is non-negotiable
- $500/month bonus for techs consistently flagging 70+ hours/week
Who we want:
- Minimum 3 years mechanical experience
- Strong with engines and transmissions — this is most of the work
- Own tools required
- Works fast without sacrificing quality
- ASE certification preferred but not required
- Reliable attendance — we run a tight schedule
Who should not apply:
- Light-duty or oil-change-only experience
- Cannot do engine or transmission work
- Attendance issues or need constant supervision
