Responsibilities
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and mobility
- Monitor and document patient conditions, vital signs, and behavioral changes to ensure safety and proper care
- Support medication administration following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with meal consumption when necessary
- Maintain a clean and safe environment by performing light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning patient areas and laundry
- Use specialized equipment like Hoyer lifts or other assistive devices to safely transfer residents with mobility challenges
- Observe and report any changes in residents’ health or behavior to nursing staff or supervisors promptly
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home & community care settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to monitor vital signs accurately
- Certifications such as CPR, First Aid, and HIPAA compliance are required or can be obtained upon hire
- Experience with dementia care, Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks safely while maintaining compassion and professionalism
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and engage with residents respectfully
- A genuine passion for caregiving combined with patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
