Job Summary
Killpack Trucking is looking for a Local Dispatcher to manage our local freight operations and support our OTR fleet as drivers return to the Idaho Falls region.
This role will oversee approximately 10 dedicated local trucks and drivers, manage local customer accounts, and help find reload opportunities in Idaho, Utah, and Montana to reduce deadhead miles back to our yard.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Dispatch and manage dedicated local trucks and drivers
- Schedule and coordinate local and regional freight
- Communicate with drivers regarding loads, pickup times, delivery times, and schedule changes
- Manage local customer needs and maintain strong customer relationships
- Coordinate reloads for OTR drivers returning to Idaho, Utah, and Montana
- Work to minimize deadhead miles and improve truck utilization
- Monitor load status and help resolve delays or service issues
- Communicate with dispatch, shop, safety, and accounting as needed
- Keep accurate load notes and dispatch updates in company systems
- Help improve routing, scheduling, and overall local fleet efficiency

Qualifications
- Dispatching, trucking, logistics, or customer service experience requirred
- Familiarity with Transportation Management Systems and ELD's
- Strong communication and phone skills
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to multitask and solve problems quickly
- Knowledge of Idaho, Utah, and Montana freight lanes is a plus
- Dependable, professional, and team-oriented
Pay: $20.00 - $25.00 per hour
