Job Summary:
Planet Open Box is looking for an Auction Order Fulfillment Associate to become the face of our company during auction removals.
This role combines customer service, inventory management, and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate enjoys interacting with people, solving problems, staying organized, and taking ownership of important processes.
As the primary customer-facing team member during auction removals, you will help create a positive experience for hundreds of customers each month while ensuring inventory accuracy and efficient warehouse operations. You will play a key role in assisting customers with removal, solving customer problems, managing returns, and working in production during non-customer removal times.
Success in this role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, a positive attitude, and the ability to remain calm and professional in a fast-paced environment.
This position is ideal for someone who enjoys balancing customer interaction with hands-on operational work and wants to grow with a small, entrepreneurial company.
Core Responsibilities
Customer Experience & Auction Removal
- Serve as the primary customer-facing representative during auction removals
- Greet customers and locate and retrieve purchases
- Close attention to detail to ensure you are not handing out the wrong items
- Resolve customer questions and concerns professionally and efficiently
- Coordinate removal-day logistics to ensure a smooth customer experience
- Communicate clearly with customers regarding pickup procedures and policies
- Represent Planet Open Box in a positive and professional manner
Auction Operations & Inventory Control
- Verify inventory accuracy before auctions go live
- Organize warehouse racks and staging areas to maximize efficiency
- Conduct post-auction inventory reconciliation
- Maintain accurate inventory records using Many Fast Scan and Airtable
Warehouse Operations
- Receive, inspect, label, and organize incoming inventory
- Assist with warehouse layout optimization and organization
- Support the unloading of delivered inventory
- Condition, Title, Photo, New Inventory during non-removal times
- Assist with special projects and process improvements as needed
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with basic inventory management
- Proficiency in basic equipment handling (on-the-job training available)
- Strong organizational skills for shelving, lotting, and packing operations
- Proficiency in basic computer operations and digital tools
- Aptitude for mastering new software applications quickly
- Meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Physical stamina and the ability to lift and move 50+ lbs consistently

- Previous experience doing online order pickup fulfillment from large retailers or warehouses.
- Previous warehouse experience, especially as it relates to inventory and customer service.
- Previous Auction company experience.
