Odyssey Mental Health Care is expanding our clinical team and seeking compassionate, motivated Licensed Mental Health Counselors (LMHCs) to help grow our psychotherapy services.
Odyssey provides comprehensive mental health care to patients across the lifespan throughout Central Indiana and via telehealth anywhere in the state. We are looking for therapists who want the flexibility to develop a schedule and caseload that works for them while having the referral resources and administrative support of an established mental health practice.
Positions will initially be part-time, with the opportunity to gradually increase hours and transition to full-time as caseloads grow, based on each clinician's interest and availability.
About the Position
This is a hybrid therapy position combining in-person, community-based care with virtual therapy.
Our philosophy is to meet patients where they are most comfortable. In-person therapy is provided wherever the patient calls home, which may include:
- Private residences
- Assisted living and independent living communities
- Skilled nursing facilities
- Group homes
- Other residential settings
Therapists may also provide virtual therapy through telehealth when clinically appropriate.
Because Odyssey serves patients across a wide range of ages, diagnoses, life circumstances, and treatment needs, we are particularly interested in therapists who bring different clinical specialties, populations of interest, and therapeutic modalities to our practice.
You do not need to specialize in every population we serve. We welcome clinicians who have developed expertise in particular age groups, diagnoses, treatment approaches, or areas of mental health.
We are open to adding multiple therapists as we expand our psychotherapy program. Hiring decisions will be based on clinical experience, specialty areas, populations served, scheduling availability, and the needs of our patients.
Areas of Interest & Specialties
Depending on your training, experience, and clinical interests, opportunities may include:
- Child and adolescent therapy
- Young adult mental health
- Adult psychotherapy
- Older adult and geriatric mental health
- Anxiety and depression
- Trauma and PTSD
- Grief and loss
- Life transitions and adjustment
- Caregiver stress and support
- Relationship and family-related concerns
- Stress management and emotional regulation
- Cognitive and behavioral therapies
- Virtual group therapy
- Other evidence-based therapeutic specialties
EMDR training and/or certification is highly desirable due to current patient needs, but is not required.
We strongly encourage applicants to tell us about the populations they most enjoy working with, therapeutic approaches they utilize, and specialty services they would be interested in bringing to Odyssey.
Flexible Schedule With Opportunity to Grow
We recognize that flexibility and work-life balance are important. Our scheduling model allows clinicians to build a schedule that fits their professional and personal goals while meeting the needs of their patients.
Clinicians initially begin on a part-time schedule. The minimum schedule requirement may be met in either of the following ways:
- Two half-days per week, with a minimum of 5 scheduled hours each day; OR
- One full 8-hour day per week
Clinicians may initially work up to three full 8-hour days per week, as caseload supports.
As your caseload grows, your schedule can grow with it. Therapists who want additional hours may gradually increase their schedules based on patient demand and their own preferences.
For clinicians interested in eventually transitioning to full-time employment, a full-time schedule consists of 40 hours per week and may be structured as either:
- Five 8-hour days; or
- Four 10-hour days
There is no expectation that a part-time clinician must become full-time. Therapists may maintain a part-time schedule or pursue additional hours as their caseload develops and their professional goals evolve.
Compensation & Mileage
Odyssey utilizes a pay-per-procedure compensation model based on CPT codes billed for services provided rather than a fixed hourly wage.
The $40–$60/hour range shown in this posting represents estimated compensation based on services provided. Actual earnings will vary depending on the type and volume of services performed.
Procedure-based compensation includes the clinical documentation associated with the services provided.
For therapists interested in facilitating group therapy, group therapy compensation is based on the number of patients in attendance.
Because this position includes community and home-based patient care, qualifying business mileage is reimbursed separately from procedure-based compensation.
Specific CPT-based compensation rates and additional details regarding the compensation structure will be discussed during the interview process.

Why Odyssey Mental Health Care?
At Odyssey, we believe quality mental health care should be accessible to patients where they are most comfortable. Our clinicians have the opportunity to care for patients in their homes and communities while also utilizing telehealth to expand access to care.
For therapists joining our team, Odyssey offers the opportunity to build a caseload without having to build and manage a private practice. We generate referrals and provide credentialing, billing, scheduling, EHR, and administrative infrastructure so our clinicians can spend more of their professional time focused on their patients and clinical work.
Our compensation and scheduling structure also provides clinicians with flexibility to design a work schedule that meets their professional and personal goals.
As an early member of our growing psychotherapy team, you will have an opportunity to help shape the services we offer. We welcome clinicians with different specialties, treatment approaches, and ideas for reaching patient populations who could benefit from more focused therapeutic care.
