Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Composite/Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our QT Aerospace, LLC team. The Composites/Sheet Metal Mechanic is responsible for service, repair, and overhaul of aircraft components to ensure airworthiness. The ideal candidate will be Quality focused, self-starter who works under minimal supervision.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Has intermediate knowledge of all areas of the aircraft and assigned work areas. Repair, modify, replace or otherwise perform routine aircraft maintenance work in specialized area of aircraft.
- Read and interpret manufacturer and airline maintenance manuals, service bulletins, drawings and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repair, replacement or modification.
- Develop repair schemes utilizing SRM or Engineering data. Conduct operational tests.
- Communicate effectively with other maintenance personnel at all levels by keeping co-workers and leadership apprised of work progress and issues as they arise.
- Ability and willingness to operate effectively in a team environment.
- Must possess basic computer skills.
- Responsible for accurately clocking to jobs.
- Responsible for understanding labor cost goals and completing assignments in a timely manner.
- All other duties as assigned.
The following duties will apply based on the area to which the employee is assigned.
Composites
- Repair, replace, and rebuild composite parts.
- Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify composite parts.
- Accomplish wet lay-up repairs.
- Accomplish elevated temperature repairs.
- Familiar with typical materials used in composite repairs - epoxy resins, sealants, adhesives, dry cloth, pre-pregs. Understands safety practices pertaining to composite repair materials.
- Understands labor cost goals for repairs assigned.
Sheet Metal
- Repair, replace, and rebuild aircraft components.
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Repair and modify flight control surfaces and components.
- Utilize special installation tools, ex – blind rivet guns, etc.
- Utilize OEM and Engineering drawings to modify aircraft structural components as required.
- Understands labor cost goals for repairs assigned.
Education and Training:
- Must be 18 years or older and legally allowed to work in the U.S.
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Ability to read blueprints, specifications, technical manuals and test equipment procedures.
Experience, Skill and Knowledge:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience.
- Airframe and Power Plant license preferred.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires lifting of items weighing up to sixty (60) pounds on an occasional basis.
- Requires physical effort associated with standing / walking / sitting.

Pay: $58,240.00 - $70,720.00 per year
