Overview
We are seeking a Female compassionate, reliable, and attentive Caregiver to provide dedicated non-medical in-home support and meaningful companionship for an elderly female with sight and hearing impairments. In this vital role, you will offer direct support with daily living activities to foster independence, safety, and overall well-being. The ideal candidate brings prior caregiving experience with adults or children, an uplifting, glass-half-full mindset that sees challenges as learning opportunities, and the ability to connect warmly with individuals with disabilities. Impeccable communication with both the client and Care Management, alongside a dependable, practical presence, is essential to making a positive difference in her daily life.
Responsibilities
- Personal Care & Hygiene:
- Showering and Grooming: Provide light safty-focused asistance during and after shower (Drying off, Apply lotion after shower and arthritis creams for feet and legs as needed.)
- Dressing Assistance: Assist with dressing and Compression socks for morning and eveining shifts as needed.
- Mobility support: Provide hand held support while outside of home when client is using a cane.
- Sensory Support & Safety Navigation:
- Communicaiotn Adaptions: Communicate clearly and patiently using clear enunciation. Speak to them with dignity as an adult.
- Maintain a clean, organized environment with light housekeeping. Bathrooms clean and sanatized and floors clear of tripping hazards, maintaining strict organization so items remian in designated, predictable locations for the client.
- Hearing Device Care: Assist with periodic insertion, cleaning as needed and basic trouble shooting of hearing aids.
- Personalized Support & Companionship: Assist with daily living activities, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and engaging environment adapted to sight and hearing impairments. Taking client to appointments and assist with daily scheduling of activities and visitors.
- Positive Communication: Maintain an uplifting, encouraging atmosphere by Valuing humor and the ability to turn tough situations into laughter or a positive, is a mjaor plus. Highlighting the silver linings and positive aspects of daily routines and experiences. Impeccable and detialed communication for shift notes, including any changes in medicaitons/suppliments, scheduling, client needs or behavior.
- Meals & Housekeeping:
- Cooking and Nutrition: Cook nutritious, appetizing meals tailored to client needs and preferences.
- Perform light cleaning, laundry, tidying, and general household upkeep to maintain a clean and cozy home.
- Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: Prior caregiving experience with adults, seniors, or children.
- Mindset: Naturally empathetic, resilient, and skilled at communicating with optimism and warmth.
- Skills: Proficient in home cooking and standard household cleaning.
- Reliability: Exceptionally dependable, trustworthy, punctual, and consistent. Must have dependable vehicle, Valid Driver License and Insurance.
- Flexibility: Ability to adapt to a flexible scheduling arrangement as needed.
- Communication: Patient and adaptable communication style tailored to visual and hearing adjustments.
Pay: $20.00 - $23.00 per hour
