Responsibilities:
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including portioning, chopping, and storing food
- Cook and plate menu items according to recipes and quality standards
- Assist in maintaining a clean and organized kitchen
- Collaborate with the culinary team to ensure food quality and presentation meet standards
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a professional kitchen environment
- Knowledge of food handling, knife skills, and cooking techniques
- Ability to work well in a team setting and take direction from chefs
- Familiarity with menu planning and meal preparation
- Understanding of food safety guidelines
- Experience in a dietary department or as a dietary aide is a plus
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail
