Responsibilities
- Assist patients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs and reporting any changes to healthcare professionals
- Support medication administration following prescribed instructions and maintaining accurate medical documentation
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being and reduce feelings of isolation
- Use patient transfer methods and equipment such as Hoyer lifts to ensure safe movement and transfers
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations while documenting care in electronic health record (EHR) or electronic medical record (EMR) systems
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, meal preparation, and ensuring a safe living environment
Requirements
- Proven experience working as a Home Health Aide or in assisted living, nursing home, or long-term care settings
- Demonstrated ability to perform patient observation and recognize signs of medical emergencies or changes in condition
- Knowledge of home healthcare regulations, medical terminology, and documentation standards
- Certification in CPR and basic life support (BLS), with first aid training preferred
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, dementia (including Alzheimer’s care), or memory care needs is highly desirable
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and use patient transfer equipment effectively
- Strong communication skills for client interaction and team collaboration
- Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems for accurate record keeping and medical documentation
- Valid certification or license as required by state law for home health aides
Pay: $15.00 per hour
