Duties
- Safely operate a variety of trucks, including manual transmission vehicles, refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and other freight carriers.
- Load and unload goods efficiently, ensuring proper handling and securing of cargo such as freight, roll-off trucks, dump trucks, or tractor-trailers.
- Follow designated routes to deliver products promptly while adhering to traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Conduct pre-trip inspections to verify vehicle condition and safety equipment is functioning correctly.
- Maintain accurate delivery logs, route documentation, and delivery confirmation records.
- Communicate proactively with dispatch teams regarding delivery status or any issues encountered during route driving.
- Assist with loading or unloading when necessary using forklifts or other equipment to ensure smooth operations.
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or in a similar truck driving role involving freight transportation.
- Familiarity with operating manual transmission vehicles and commercial trucks such as tractor-trailers or dump trucks.
- Knowledge of route planning and navigation to optimize delivery efficiency.
- Ability to load and unload cargo safely using equipment like forklifts when required.
- Prior experience with refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, tankers, or roll-off trucks is a plus.
- Strong understanding of safety protocols related to freight handling and vehicle operation.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record; commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred but not mandatory for all roles depending on vehicle type.
