Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will support clinical operations. This role involves providing exceptional patient care, assisting with medical procedures, and supporting administrative functions within a fast-paced medical environment. Clinic experience including venipuncture REQUIRED. The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in ensuring smooth patient flow and delivering high-quality healthcare services.
Duties
- Assist with patient intake processes, including collecting medical histories and documenting chief complaints
- Measure and record vital signs accurately and efficiently
- Prepare patients for examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety
- Support health care providers with clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound care, and basic life support procedures
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Administer oral and intramuscular medications as directed by providers.
- Perform basic laboratory tests and prepare specimens for analysis.
- Light daily office cleaning
- Maintain accurate patient records and manage electronic health systems
- Prepare patients for examinations by taking vital signs and medical histories.
- Educate patients on treatment plans, medications, and follow-up care.
- Collaborate with other staff to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Ensure compliance with health regulations and maintain a clean clinic environment.
- Cross train with imaging staff
- Bilingual preferred but not required
Experience
- Prior experience in a medical clinic/urgent care is REQUIRED
- Familiarity with medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, ICD coding, and medication administration is REQUIRED
- Experience working within EHR systems is essential for efficient documentation
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required
- Previous roles supporting patient care in inpatient or outpatient settings will be considered an asset
Expected hours: 40.0 per week
